Playground Program Set to Begin
The City of Prince Albert Community Services Department is set to begin the annual summer Playground Program on Thursday, July 2nd continuing until August 14th, 2015. This free program is offered at ten park locations throughout the city for children 5 to 12 years of age to enjoy a wide variety of games, sports, water fun, crafts and special events all summer long.
There will also be a summer sports program, art program and cultural program alongside these planned daily activities. These special programs will visit each of the playgrounds so all children will have the chance to experience them for the first time.
Each playground is staffed with two qualified and trained playground supervisors. The playgrounds are open Monday to Thursday from 12:00 to 5:30 pm (Bernise Sayese Centre is open Monday to Thursday 11:30 – 5:00) and Friday’s from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Ella Muzzy in Kinsmen Park is also open on weekends from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
“The playground program is a great way to keep children active throughout the summer by providing exercise and a creative outlet for them,” stated Curtis Olsen, Recreation Coordinator with the City of Prince Albert. “We often hear comments on how great it is to have their children participate in these fun outdoor activities in a supervised setting instead of being stuck indoors all summer long.”

Please note that the Hazeldell Community Clean up day has been cancelled. We will send out an update as soon as a new date is confirmed. Please sign up for our emails so that you are up to date with all the community news!

The Hazeldell Community Clean Up Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd from 1-4pm.
This community day is just not cleaning up around the hall but also the community as a whole. After the snow leaves the garbage is revealed, this a day where we will go out and clean up the boulevards and streets.
As a community club we are setting the standard for all the community clubs in the city and we want to continue to stay ahead of the trend.
Garbage bags and gloves will be available at the community hall and if you are able to help at the hall between 1 - 4pm we would really appreciate your assistance. We have various small jobs that can be done to help improve our community hall.

The paddling pool is completely run and operated by the City of Prince Albert not the Hazeldell Community Club board. An email received from the City has informed us that the main to get the water on is broken and the City is trying to fix it but it requires special machinery and parts in order to fix it. The Parks Department and Public Works are doing their best to fix the problem.

New addition to the hall
We were fortunate enough to receive a grant from the Northern Lights Community Development Corporation to build a deck on the hall.
It is a great addition to the hall, it is a benefit to those who rent the hall throughout the year. It will be used by the playground program and is a great place for parents to hang out and watch their children skate in the winter.
